Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed he has a player he wants to sign and has considered before Gabriel Jesus’ injury.
Arsenal are struggling with a number of attacking players, with Bukayo Saka, Ethan Vaneri and most recently Gabriel Jesus, who has a torn anterior cruciate ligament and will be out for several months.

Arteta has revealed the latest on his January transfer window: “We know who we want to sign. We have a very clear idea of the players we want.”
“Before Gabriel Jesus’ injury and now Gavi’s injury, we have to wait and see how things turn out.”
Another former Arsenal player, Aaron Ramsey, also feels there is a weak spot up front for a team who only scored one goal across their previous two matches in all competitions, coming via centre-back Gabriel, despite an Expected Goals (xG) of more than six.
“There were chances there again [against Spurs] and that’s sort of been a recurring theme over the last few weeks, where they haven’t managed to capitalise on decent chances, and that’s something they are going to have to address,” said Ramsey.
“They can’t keep relying on a set-piece. That can take you so far, but they do need to start converting these chances that they’re making.”
